Mamma's new shoe

Look at my new classy shoe but it needs some bling, dont you think?! Doctor said no need for any surgery...YEAH! Its just going to take alot of time to get the swelling down, so those toes will bend again. He gave me a hard time about my crutch padding and said he could give me a walker instead...funny! He adjusted crutches and actually showed me the correct way to use them. Will have to use both for another week then wants me to switch to just one and see him on the 12th.
He said I should be good to fly to AL with just my lovely walking shoe, IF I behave myself and stay off it...so Wes and I decided not to drive to Al. next week for Lucas 3 birthday...Im so bummed but I want to go on the 17th, so I need to stay off it and behave.

HAPPY 36th Birthday Danny.... We love you! He says that hes still the same as 35 but has glasses.... Made his favorite breakfast; biscuits n gravy for when he came in from work this morning and pizza and cherry cheesecake for his dinner.

Stuff & Hobble

Ha Ha Ha,,, all of you Armadillos...you kept eating the pumpkins and watermelons so we fixed you...we took chicken wire and make a cages. lets see you get into those my little prettys...

Guess Im grounded...and wont be able to get out to the garden to pick okra either.


I was playing with the cat Monday afternoon, not watching where I was walking and kicked the door jam...ooohh that hurt and I knew I did it good cause the 3rd toe was bent the wrong way.. ended up at ER, Tues morning ,,and yep I broke it... now have a split soft cast and crutches... They set up a orthpedic appt for the 30th and said until then I need to stay off it...HAH! they would have been better to give me a hard cast or a walking boot, and those crutches hurt! I was on it too much yesterday and I'm paid for it today... poor Wes is working himself to death..., cooking, cleaning, and running me....

Its been a kinda noise week also, cause half the herd was take to auction, leaving 14 mama, 1 bull and a small calf....the momma call 24 -7 for days for their calves...

Our 31st Ann ...

It was my turn to plan our anniversary weekend. I picked Fredericksburg, TX. It was to have a Chili Pepper & Salsa Festival....well that was a dud with only a few vendors and no hot air balloons, due to the high fire danger and burn ban...
That didn't stop us, we went to several cute and unique shops on Main St: Rusty Rob, Dollies 5 & 10, co-op organic store, Amish shop, olive oil specialty shop, WWII museum and much more.
We went to Trade Days(swap meet) and took a drive to Luckenbach TX. and got a burger... It was a full weekend. We stayed at a Baron Creek Cottage, built in 1932....we loved sitting out by the creek, listening to the wind rustle thru the trees and watching the squirrels play about.

Grandparents Day!

We are so blessed to be grandparents. For our 3 grandsons, and any future grandkids...It brings you to your knees, laughing, crying and pulls at your heart strings.... We are so gratful for this great time to be there for them, support and love them...

End of seasons

Well I think I have to quit with the pumpkins patch...seems even with all care, they are just blooming away..When I do get a few little ones along comes a critter and eats them...It was a nice try but there is no way I will have pumpkins for the grandsons in another month...guess we'll just have to find a pumpkin farm while Im there and let them pick their own this year...
Its Sept and have waited all summer for one of our watrermelons, just to wait some more...we have 11 out in the patch but none of them are ready. I can see the cows will love me....
The okra is still doing good and I go out almost every day to pick and wait a day or two them put them up.
Everything is so dry, even a tree out front fell over, roots and all....we need rain.
Finally got a few days of cooler weather , upper 80 but the winds havent helped with the fires around...
