Sunny Days

Well we got another 2 1/2 in of snow last week but we finally got a couple days of warm sunny days...I was able to plant 40 more gladiolus bulbs in different colors and re pot the flowers by the door flowers before the rain comes again. My next project will to clean out the flower bed at the end of the porch...flowers or roses?
I kept hearing the sound of bees as I took out the trash to the road...I then realized they were all there the yard since with all the rain, it was sprouted these weeds with tiny purple, blue and white flowers, that are about 2 inches tall...Told Wes to get the lawn mover out and get the yards mowed.
Oh Lara,,, the cow got out today and were across the road and over in Baumgarteners side pasture....and it wasn't even the white one....come herd them...LOL
The big plan for the week is to go do taxes and voting on Tues and finish Susan quilt top this week...

Snow snow snow....

Well last week was exciting... We got 1 1/2 inches of rain then it started to snow Thurs afternoon..and when we got up on Friday morning, it was a winter wonderland with 5 inches... Brooke called before 8 a.m., all excited that school was canceled and wanted me to meet her out front to play in the snow... She was so funny..
We had to walk down to the Baumgartners driveway so she could make a snow angel for them...she was like a puppy trying to leave her mark at each driveway....
We saw natures beauty of how the snow laid over everything and it was fun to try to build a snowman...lol...of course she was into throwing those snowballs at me.

I took off Fri afternoon to meet up with Lynne. She was in town for a business conference Mon thru Wed. and came in a few days early so we could have a girls weekend...Ahh she misses me!....We talked til 11:30 every night and started up first thing the next morning...
Saturday morning we drove to Jon and Brit house...They have a lovely home and Layala was the cutest thing. Spent the day with them and then headed back to our hotel by the airport after dinner. Sunday we got ready to check out of hotel# 1 and Jon and Brit met us and we all carvaned over to Dallas Aquarium and spent a few hours there ..I headed home as the rest of them headed for Lynne other hotel and more visiting... It was fun and looking forward to the next trip...

The Fishing Man

Danny went out to try his luck fishing with Dad but said as he went out the door...Im not touching no fish... good thing he had a rubber worm on the hook...
Guess they had a great fun time..Dad wasnt holding on to his pole and when a fish hit and there the pole went. They were able to snag it out...then little while later dad goes to cast and there goes the top half of his pole....Danny had a good time laughing.
They got a couple of bite and one got away....The cows kept creeping closer and closer and Dad was amused when Danny moved back around and put Dad between the him and cows...

The girls quilt tops...

Well first I need to apolizise to you girls for all my lies...you would call or text and see what I was doing and I'd make up something....I can't THANK YOU girls enough for this distraction...It helped me get settled in Texas and pull myself out of a deep hole of depression... It was a challenge and a joy..There are mistakes, laughs, blood, tears and alot of prayers, as I worked these quilt tops...I will be setting up the quilt machine and getting them done for your birthdays.... More Pics

It has been a great time. Enjoy going all over the place. We went to old town Ft. Worth and saw the longhorns, ate lunch, went over to Billy Bob and looked thru alot of shops. The girls, babies and I took a trip to Mansfield (75 miles away)to go to Kohls and Super Target and out to lunch..It snow there for few hours... Joe and his wife Vicki came up from Ft. Hood area to visited with us. The last night, the guys kept the kids entertained with the great wrestling match on the bed, while Becky tried to pack before bed time...They left early Wed morning for home. Will be having baby # 3 due July 20th or so... Danny headed to Vonnie in Kansas for a week. I took Lara and Jim to see the outlet mall and the other mall...Just like Topeka...They are going to his cousins up near Dallas tonight for New Year Eve celebrations and come back tomorrow afternoon...They fly out early on Sat...All this is way to soon. It will be back to just us and the cows til April / May...
