Another Adventure
Dad loves to make me wonder where we are going. He says its a Surprise...
Today we ended up in L.A. at the Farmers Market.... We had never been there and so we walked around.
We found a Cajun place to eat called The Gumbo Pot. I had a half Muffetala sandwich, Dad had 2 side orders, Red beans and rice and Jambalaya and we split a order of Beignets (french donuts) and coffee.
They had some cute stores and alot of grocery and speciality food shops.
It was a nice outing with crisp winds...

The Annual Craft Girls Day
Well it was only Lara and I that made it to Christmas on Euclid at 9:00 a.m.this year. Aunt Deb was sick, the her girls were both working, and Aunt Lynn didnt want to go...
Boy it was terrible... there were hardly any craft booths and we walked the whole thing and back to the car in 45 minutes... it was sad, sad, sad,,,
Then sisi and I went over to the Harvest Festival at the fair grounds for 10:00 a.m It was Ok but not the real cutie things that they had in the past years... We didnt buy much there either.
We decided to go to downtown Claremont for Espaiu salads... then we came back home and took a nap....

Feeding the masses
Well you would think that Miss Eva was feeding a couple of large classes. She is our PTA president and has a special place in her heart for our kids.. This is what she brought our class for lunch today.

A very busy week
Well this has been a crazy week...My principal fell last Monday and broke her hip and will be out for awhile to recoop from her hip surgery. The district sent us a retired principal, Mr. Magham, who was my first principal 20 plus yrs ago...who would have thought.....
I decided to make a little Halloween maze in the empty class room next door for my class and started putting it together the past 3 days... I had my teacher go thru it today and I laughed until I was crying at her, when she got stuck in the crawl thru tube in the dark... OK , OK,,,, so I need a little more light so I'm sure the black light will help .
We weighed our pumpkin. It was 11 1/2 lbs. Then the kids decided what kind of face they wanted and I carved it. For some of our kids you thought they were going to die when each had a turn to help pull out the pulp and seeds. Some things some kids just cant do, but I just ask they try once, then some they really got into it... After cleaning them up and the table we sent them home. Velane and I spent the hour decorating the rooms: putting up green and white spider webbing all around and over each kids desks... and setting up the tables...
I came home and made my spagehtti and chilled the gummy eyes balls... then went and got the dry ice for the cladron....I will take pictures and post them tomorrow night....

The date,,,
Well I guess your never too old to go on a date....
Dad took me out to lunch at Scholski Deli then to the Sugar Plum Craft Show at the Orange County Fair... that was a nice surprise. I thought we were just going for a drive down by the beach...Dad kept finding things to buy and I kept saying, mmm No!
We stopped on the way home for an Italian Ice.. I got a Botta Bing Cherry and Dad got a Joes Rootbeer with Vanilla ice cream... was so good and yummy. It was a nice date.

28th Anniversary
We started a tradition early in our marriage of each of us taking a turn, every other year and planning something to celebrate.
Last year was my turn so I planned a weekend over in Catalina. The year before it was Dad's turn and he took up to a B & B in Cambria. The year before that, I took Dad to the Madonna Inn and we stayed in the Cave Room. And we went on a Alaska cruise for out 25th. I'm hoping for another cruise or to go to Hawaii for our 30th...well it sounds like a good idea.
We have gone to some cool places... I remember one year I saved up and made reservations at the Hotel Del Coronado in San Diego and then Wes got laid off work and we had enough money for a tank of gas and to go out to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory in downtown San Diego but didn't have enough money to pay to go back and forth over the bridge ($1.65 one way) so we had to go the long way round the strand to get back to the hotel and coffee in the basement cafe was really expensive. One year Dad took me to Avlon beach , we had a room over looking the beach front. There have been many anniversaries at Scout camp too. One year I took Dad to a Log home B & B up in Big Bear and we walked the town for entertainment. Some years we were lucky to be able to just give each other a card or go out to dinner.
This year we are going out to dinner and will go to the L.A. Fair next weekend with friends.
Here's to another 28 year Wes,,, I love you!

Getting things off my chest
*You know I dont understand why if you know a Hurricane is coming , you dont move to higher ground or evacuate .... its been on the news for 3 days of warnings... why do they wait til its too late and now they are stuck there....I just dont get it....
*I don't know who I should be mad at..the district or the state..??? The district told us today that if the state doesnt come up with a budget soon, we wont get our paychecks starting Oct. and not until the state gets a budget....
Thats so Unfair!
I think I need Chocolate!
