April Showers bring ,,,

We seem to always hit a rain storms about 50 miles outside of town, as we come back from any trip.
Got home to find 5 kittens born out by the back door on Easter.
Danny put card table over them to protect them from the bad storm. Moved the kittens into a box with towels and Goldie seems to be fine with that for a few days. She move the kittens yest afternoon to the side shed.
Our tornado warnings and storms were an experience. I could hear the sirens from Retreat. Kept a very close eye out and was ready to go to front bathroom at second notice.
Now we have beautiful spring weather... All different kinds of birds are out, hummingbirds are back, sparrows and cardinals..even this colorful one...its a size of sparrow.

Happy Easter

We had a great time spending the weekend with Brian and Becky and playing with the boys... B & B took us out to lunch at Zack Family Restranunt, it was good homestyle cooking. Becky and I took the boys to the primary church Easter egg hunt. There was bubbles, kite flying and of course hunting eggs. They provoded a nice lunch under the shade trees. Boys took a good nap that afternoon.
We hung out, played and finshed projects. Big B and I made a last minute to the mall for outfits... So glad it all came together. The family looked great in their green colors...even tho we accidently brought home a unpaid outfit that was hung on the stoller- (Big Brian has a new name Mr.sticky fingers..) I made Tacos for dinner and so glad Brian, Stacy and Ammon could come join us . Played train dominos and had homemade oreo ice cream for dessert....Helped get the family ready for church, while they were gone, Papa and I went out and got 3 dz plastic eggs and filled them. We were just putting them out front when the family came around the corner, I waved them on and we threw them all around the grass and called them back...
Jacob was entertained by the empty eggs most of the afternoon. Becky made a lovely Easter ham dinner with potote casserole, green beans and fruit salad and rolls. We had Paula Deans Not YO Momma Banana Puddin...very yummy. Thank you Becky and Brian for sharing your Easter with us.

Day 14

Today is our last day here with the grandsons. We had cartoon time and then it was work work work...Brian packed up his and Lucas cars...we searched and picked up room by room for any and all cars and toys they brought. Papa gave them one last ride on the mower and let each one drive. We did a adventure trip and went to Walmart and gassed up the van then went to Mc Donalds for lunch...came home and all the guys rested (slept) for 2 hours while gram did laundry and packed...
This afternoon we packed the van and then went to Baumgartners to say Thank You for the goodies bag of stuff they gave the boys. Brian helped Grandpa wash the van while Lucas and I cooked dinner and picked up the toys in the back patio and empty the pool.
Gave boys dinner and then I took them over to Jackie's house to feed Elmer, the EMoo.
Came home and Brooke was watching for us so she could came over to say goodbye to the boys. Got our baths and then have play time with Uncle Danny. Put the boys to bed and read them 2 stories tonight. So ends our Grams Camp....Happy Trails

Day 13

Well the trip out to the mail box, this morning with Danny, ended up being a race there and back, then playing ball and just having a good time. Every day Brian helps me check the sunflowers and morning glorys and today they are now taller than he is. Brian and I got the pool ready for another hot day. Danny gave the boys their ride on the mower. We discovered the van had a flat tire so Wes took care of it after lunch while the boys and I watched a Disney movie...well the boys went to sleep within 20 minutes nto it so I swept and mopped my kitchen floor and did dishes.
Played in sunroom most of afternoon but ended up out on back porch and in the pool. It was so hot but the boys wanted to play in pool that I kept trying to make shade...OK OK so Im a out of control Grandmother... :)but they needed shade and didnt get sunburned.
I made pizza for the boys for dinner and we all ate out on the patio..they played a little more but the storm was fixing to come in so I made them come and get their baths and pj on...you could tell they were tired but waited for Danny to get up and show him their glow in the dark neon purple neckalces...read a book and they finally went to sleep by 9:30.

Day 12

Boys up about 7 ish and looking for Danny..Had donuts and choc milk then got dressed to play. They love playing cars with Uncle Danny. Wes mowed the front yard and had Brian help with about quarter of it and boy was Lucas made cause he wanted a turn...Wes came in after he finished the yard, to give Lucas a ride and he just turned his back to him til he understood it was his turn and off he went. Tried to get the boys to rest their hour but no go, so we went to the store. It was hot today so we played inside or on the shaded patio. I made chicken enchilada casserole for dinner and the boys didn't want any part of it..??? whats up with that? We went out to the pool and played for about an hour then out out to rest...they see Grandpa eating the enchilada casserole with chips and they only wanted his...they ate so that was good. Went back in the pool for little longer and then got pj on...they sat on mower taking turned of driving...they came in and played quietly til it got dark and Gram took them to bed at8:30 and read a book to them..Lucas was fast asleep 8 minute but Brian hung on for another 30 more minutes...
