Hi-Ho Hi-ho Hi-ho

Many thanks to Becky for her help on packing all the crystalware on Monday... and to Deb who came over this morning and got all the rest of the kitchen stuff packed up.. We even took 5 more boxes of kitchen stuff to Goodwill....
Deb, Where did I put the paper plates??? We ate dinner on saucers... boy I wont live this down for a awhile...LOL
So all I have left in the kitchen is on Thur I will clean out the 2 refrigerators and we will switch their places... and pack up the spice cubboard and pantry, which most will go in RV on Friday afternoon....
I'm just hoping we can get all this stuff in that big truck....

Thank you, thank you, thank you.. I sure did need the boost from both of you.

Happy Fathers Day

We all met up at Lara and Jims for 1:00 for Fathers Day Bar B Q. It was very good ladies... Lara and Jim had a pool and bubbles and chalk for drawing to keep kid busy til BarB Q was ready. Little Brian learned to chase bubbles, shoot a water gun at everyone and draw on the sidewalk with the cousins. He loved standing in the pool. Chris and him had a great time splashing. We had cards and gifts for the Fathers then ate poundcake strawberry short cake,,,Yummy. Then it was time for Becky the boys and I to head down the hill so they could celebrate dinner with Becky dad and family..... It was great time I enjoyed it... Thanks Lara and Jim...

My First full Day of Retirement

I am exhausted! I went to bed at 10 and was awake at 5 and 6 a.m. but didnt get up til 7:30.. I didnt really do much today. Had coffee with my hubbie and talked for almost 2 hours which was very nice... Went with Wes to his Kaiser clinic in Brea, he had a 12 hr fasting blood test to do and then we went to Pepe for breakfast. Their breakfast burritos were HUGH!
Then we headed back home and stopped in at Home Depot for a few things. That was morning. Dads vertigo jumped in so he went to the couch to rest. Bathrooms will wait for tomorrow.
In the afternoon I helped Danny with his laundry. Becky called to see if I wanted to go over and swim at Aunt Debs but I was too tired. Went over to check Lynne place and feed the dogs. Every time I sat in my chair this afternoon I would almost fall asleep...ok I did fall asleep about 5:30 for 15 minutes. Got dinner and dishes done.
I hope all my days wont be like this....I just might need to go back to work. LOL

Wes & I, Lara & Jim, and Deb, met Aunt Sally, Patti & Ed at Carrows for breakfast this morning before their drive back to Burbank to catch their flight back to Sacromanto....


This afternoon our family all went to a park in Chino Hills and took family pictures... Thank you Aunt Curly and Alli and Sami.

You got Me!

Wes and I were suppose to go out to dinner with Lara and Jim Sat. night as probably everyone already know...they picked us up and off we go...Lara say I have to go pick up my pay stub at Aunt Lynn house,,,I'm thinking ok but does she really need to do this now???? We come around the corner and there are cars everywhere...and I even say must be a party and Lara say well yeah its graduation week...which is true but and I start scanning these cars...there's Velanes car,,, I should have know. and Both Lara and Jim get out of the car..Dad is saying "We all don't need to go in"...I should have suspected before this...butno one didnt say a word....
The light bulb comes on for me and as Lara is walking faster and faster in front of me I tell her...Oh you are so dead, so dead.... shes laughing...
We walk in and flash goes the camera and Lynn is yelling SURPRISE! I look in the livingroom and there its full of people ,,,,Aunt Kathryn, Larry and Denise ,,,Aunt Sally, Patti and Ed, the Riners,,,and then I saw them.. There was Lucas, Becky and my Brian, Becky mom and dad, Linda and Kent and sister Jennette...I squelled with delight and cried...
After collecting myself, there was my sister, Deb and her girls, Stephanie & Brian her boyfriends and Monica, Wes sister: Mary Jane, and her daughter Lori and family came later, Jim sister Jennifer & family, Wes's work friends, Evertte & Jeanie, Dave & Agnus and my work friends, Velane & Steven, Teresa & Tim.
(Velane your in so much trouble when I get back to work) Linda & Craig from San Diego, Wes best friends from college, Willie and Marsha & her daughter and family....Oh my Goodness...so many. Sorry if I left anyone out...Phone calls from Sheryll and Brian, Lori Lee...not to say a few e-mails I got this morning from others that couldnt make it.
They had tables decorated in red and white checks and boot center pieces and a DJ that was playing western music... There was marvolous food: BURGERS, DOGS, CHICKEN AND RIBS, SALADS, FRUIT, DESSERTS: CHERRY COBBLER and a CHOC FOUNTAIN ,,,,,it was great!
We are very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends...Thank you to everyone for coming to our retirement party and special send off to Texas.

Experiencing a Rental...

Well this is a learning experience and its only been 2 days with an ad in the Pennysaver. I'm surprised how people dont read the ad correctly...or want you to lower the rent....
Most people want to come see the place over the weekend...So I guess I'll be showing it and doing the Community Yard Sale on Sat.

I guess that TX has had so much rain, that within 10 days the grass grew over 6 inches and the lawn service had to move it again. They say now that its turning warm, (90 this week and if there is no more rain,) Mike say it might slow down and not have to mow until the end of June but will check it next week..
90...did he say 90???? in the first week of June???? Oh boy I will be turning on the air when I get there, thats for sure...Or at least fans...I wonder what an average monthly electric bills runs??? Well the good thing is the Brian and Lucas pool water will warm up fast and be ready for them....

More Vistors

Today the office called and said I have 2 visitors and they would send them up to the room. It was Norma and Loida...I had them in my class about 1990. They are like 26-27yr old..
Norma stayed with me for about 3 weeks when her mom had to go to Mexico for an family emergency and didn't want Norma to miss too much school. So I brought her home one day. Norma and Lara shared the bedroom and Norma kept asking for me to cook Mexican food for dinner..she is now divorced with 2 boys and lives with her mom in Pomona and works at Macy in Montclair Plaza.
Loida family had moved to Rancho, which was only a few blocks from me so I would go by in the mornings and pick her up and take her home from school everyday so she didn't have to change schools for that year. She now lives in Connecticut and has been married for 3 yrs and has 2 children. She came out in Calif visiting her mom and ran into Norma. Norma told her I was retiring and she wanted to come see me before she leaves on the the 11th for CT....
It is so great to see how these kids have grown up.
